Macy Gray will pay homage to the legendary Stevie Wonder by covering his classic album, Talking Book, which will be released on October 30 via 429 Records. Gray’s rendition of the album will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original which was released on October 28, 1972.
With the assistance of producer Hal Willner (Lou Reed, Metallica), Gray will lend her unique vocals to the multi-platinum album that spawned seven top ten singles including classics “Sunshine Of My Life” and “Superstition.”
” ‘Talking Book’ is one of my top five albums of all time and Stevie is my favorite,” say Gray. “This is my own personal gift to Stevie Wonder, for all that I learned from him and for his miraculous songs that change my life every time I hear them. This is not a tribute album; it’s a love letter and a big thank you card on record.”
