Melanie Amaro returned to The X-Factor USA on Thursday to perform her new single “Long Distance.” The song in the lead single from Amaro’s forthcoming debut album, Truly…, due in 2013.
Amaro has been in the studio with music industry heavyweights such as Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Kuk Harrell, and Bleu McAuley, among others. Her album will feature a mixture of R&B and dance-pop.
Speaking on her debut album, Amaro said: “There’s one side of me that’s all about pop, the kind of music you can move and dance to and have fun with, but my biggest influences have always been singers like Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, and I definitely stayed true to that on the album.”
