There’s a new era in R&B music with a new wave of talent and direction. Janine & The Mixtape and her EP, “Dark Mind,” are taking the road less traveled or should we say the “wave” less traveled as she brings a refreshing twist to R&B.
Janine Foster, better known as Janine & The Mixtape, is a New Zealand multi-talented entertainer living in Brooklyn, N.Y. This self-sufficient artist is a singer, songwriter, producer and instrumentalist. She even creates viral visuals and designs her own artwork covers. Her style is said to be “all about the voice, the beat and honesty.”
Even though she is fairly new on the scene, she has released two singles, “Hold Me” and “Dark Mind,” and has shared the stage with great artists such as Marsha Ambrosius. With co-signs from publications like Billboard, Complex and Vibe, the New Zealand native seems to have made a name for herself.
Perhaps, you can get a deeper look at her many layers with the release of her EP, “Dark Mind ,” With the beginning works of the EP done in New Zealand and the finished product completed in Brooklyn, N.Y., you can expect a well-rounded piece of art. Don’t miss out as the singer carves her own lane and makes a mark for herself in the new wave of R&B.
