Marsha Ambrosius Pens New Song ‘SKY’ To Make Us ‘Feel’ [LISTEN]

Rated-Marsha

Just when you least expect it,  Marsha Ambrosius comes out of hibernation and reemerges with new music. The “Far Away” songstress pays homage to fallen artists and family on her new track “Sky.”

Ambrosius’ inspiration to pen and  to dedicate the song came from Philadelphia rappers Jimme Wall Street and Lil Snupe, who were recently shot to death, and her family member.

Read her thoughts on the ballad and listen to the heartfelt ballad below:

I was compelled to write and play this song because I heard it in a dream. I was out in LA doing a couple of writing session a couple of weeks ago and this song happened. Flying back to Philadelphia the other day, I captured footage of the clouds on my iPhone. Felt only right to put the two together as I reflected on the lives lost these past couple of weeks. Jimme Wall Street, Lil Snupe, Aunty. I can listen to this and remember. I can listen to this and want to forget. I can listen to this and mend a broken heart or feel it break. I made this song to FEEL!

LOVE, Marsha Ambrosius

Toni Braxton Releases New Song ‘Heart Away’ with Birdman

R&B legend Toni Braxton teams with her alleged boyfriend Birdman for her a new track, “Heart Away.” Produced by London On Da Track, the edgy tune is an interpolation of Cash Money artist Dez Deshon’s song “Hardaway.”

“He took my heart away, bad man with good manner / Played me like I was a habit / Middle finger, he could have it / I used to dream of livin’ lavish / Now a girl’s a livin’ legend,” Braxton sings.

Birdman raps, “I got something worth more than money / Go to church, free the birds on Sundays / So much pain I took you away from it / When I pull up on you I’m stunting.”

Last fall, Braxton released her single “Deadwood” as the lead track from her upcoming album, Sex & Cigarettes
