Solange Knowles makes big moves for herself and shows her ‘dirty’ side as she headlines the Vitamin Water and The FADER #uncapped series at a Brooklyn laundromat.
The high-spirited Solange Knowles not only booked The Fader cover with her unique eccentric style, but she also headlined the #uncapped series. It wasn’t your typical event unless you call a Brooklyn Atlantic Avenue laundromat being turned into a neon-lit nightclub typical.
Not many singers would perform in a laundromat, but the down-to-earth Knowles showed her love for the Brooklyn area. Now a resident of Brooklyn’s Carroll Gardens, the Houston native was introduced as “the coolest girl in Brooklyn.”
The laid back Knowles performed as if it was The Madison Square Garden despite her actual location. She wore a matching shirt and shorts combination rocking her soulful afro. She was accompanied by her live band playing to perfection and complementing the songstress’ funky vocals. Knowles performed a list of songs from her resume including “Don’t Let me Down,” “Bad Girls,” “Locked in Closets” and “Lovers in the Parking Lot.”
Singing in a tight-knit space between two rows of washing machines, Knowles even took charge and daringly ventured on top of the washing machines. Knowles was enjoying her performance just as much as the fans were. “This laundromat really has me wanting to be a drama queen tonight, so excuse my theatrics,” says the soulful singer as she delivers an exhilarating performance.
