K.Michelle released her debut album “Rebellious Soul” on August 13, selling 71,627 copies during her first week of sales. The album outsold Monica’s, Kelly Rowland’s and Ciara’s latest album’s first week sales. Since its release, “Rebellious Soul” has sold a little over 123,000 units.
Released in mid-May, the Pop & Oak tune “V.S.O.P” kicked off the singer’s debut album era, serving as the lead single from the LP. Although the song took a minute or two to be received on radio, the song has managed to reach No.9 on Billboard’ R&B Song chart along with entering the Top 10 on the Urban radio chart this week. However, after only five weeks and debuting No.2 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart, the album has fallen to No.45 this week.
With “Rebellious Soul” being the singer/reality-star’s first album and it already slightly losing momentum in album sales, it might be wise for her and her team to move forward with the follow-up single in mid-October.
The 11-track offering is filled with several potential singles like “Ride Out,” “My Life,” and “Pay My Bills.” On the other hand, there are a few records that belong solely on album like – “Can’t Raise A Man,” “I Don’t Like Me” and “A Mother’s Prayer.”
However, we want to hear from the fans. After listening to the album, what do you believe should be the second single from “Rebellious Soul.” You never know, her team could be watching.
