Leigh Bush, formerly known as Sammie, is heating up the pages of the latest issue of Kontrol Magazine.
Catchy hooks are replaced with heartfelt melodies as Bush reveals the formula for his new, mature sound, “My music definitely reflects the changes in my life…I’ve been through more so I discuss a lot more in my music…you know I’ve been in love, relationships, had triumphs and hardships just like anyone else…luckily, I’ve been able to use music as my outlet…”
Growing up before our eyes, it’s no surprise that fans are now picturing the 26-year old singer as somewhat of a sex symbol. Bush tells Kontrol, “They’re [his lips] my favorite feature, I’ve had a lot of young ladies on Instagram, Twitter, and other social sites point out how they like their shape and stuff so I’m not gonna disagree with them…I have to keep my chap stick and Carmex on hand!”
Bush has also been working hard to rebrand his image, physically, “A few years back I managed to add ten pounds of pure muscle to my body, I’m naturally a slim framed male so it was quite a task…”
Born Sammie Lee Bush, the R&B singer is well known for his 1999 hit “I Like It” off his debut album “From the Bottom to the Top.” Bush reemerged years later in 2006 with his sophomore effort “Sammie,” with singles “You Should Be My Girl” and “Come With Me”.
Bush is working on his third studio album, appropriately titled “Coming of Age,” release date to be announced. His EP “The Leigh Bush Project” is available now on iTunes.
