According to Pharrell Williams, R&B’s resident pianist Alicia Keys will make her hometown New York City very proud with her upcoming project.
The super producer spilled the tea to Angie Martinez of Hot 97 about Keys’ next album on Monday. “Alicia’s album is crazy. Harlem is gonna be real proud. New York is gonna be real proud,” said the Neptunes hitmaker. “It supersedes anything that’s out. It’s awesome because it’s a woman…and it’s a black woman and there’s just a whole other level of what she’s doing and I was very honored to have her on my album, and we actually worked on some records for her album while she was doing that for me. New York, be very proud because she’s done something next level.”
Williams recruited Keys for “G I R L,” and features her on a duet called “You Know Who You Are.”
Last month, Alicia Keys shared her unreleased track “Zebras and Airplanes” with the online music world. The song was pulled from her “Element of Freedom” album era and draws inspiration from a Chloe Early painting.
Listen to Williams rave about Keys’ next album along with his loss at the Oscars, his wife Helen Lasichanh and dropping his album the same day as Rick Ross below.
