Kelly Rowland has been cooking up a new album and is giving Billboard exclusive details about her 5th solo studio album.
At the beginning stages of her follow-up to 2013’s “Talk a Good Game,” the Houston native gives an early update on her forthcoming LP. Rowland is excited about the new project and the fresh new ideas that are surfacing during her creative studio sessions. The singer says she is being very experimental on the album, inspired by everything from movies to poems and quotes.
“I’m at the very, very beginning stages of the record,” says the 33-year-old. “We’re at the point now where we are all talking–writers [and] producers–we’re all excited. There are fresh ideas coming into the studio right now. We’re trying different beats. It’s a really great start.”
Going along with the experimental nature of the project, Rowland says that she desires to work with new talent on the production side of things. She believes there is someone out there who has something new to give to her album. “I’d love to tap into that,” reveals Rowland.” Confirmed for the new album is busy man Pharrell Williams who is sure to bring fire to the record.
“Pharrell is on board. We already talked about it. I’d love for Timbaland to be on board. We’ve had discussions as well.”
Until the new album drops, Rowland has a few endeavors in place as Caress’ new Fabulista and her continued partnership with watch brand TW Steel. The singer-songwriter may even be picking up a movie script or two.
