Well, this is different. Soul crooner John Legend and R&B/pop star Jason Derulo have been booked to perform at the CMT Music Awards tonight (Jun. 4).
Derulo will share the stage with Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line to perform “This Is How We Roll.” Derulo will then transition to perform his hit single, “Talk Dirty.”
Derulo expressed his excitement to Billboard. “It’s really cool, man, because I’ve always dreamed of having my music cross boundaries and enter into different walks of life,” Derulo said. “Just because you love country music doesn’t mean you can’t love other genres of music. So the fact that they thought of my song to be at the CMTs is unbelievable. I’m just really excited more than anything and I have my cowboy hat on deck.”
Meanwhile, country stars Jennifer Nettles and Hunter Hayes will join Legend to sing his number one single, “All of Me.”
Both Derulo and Legend performed at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards last month. Derulo performed “Talk Dirty,” and his Snoop Dogg assisted track “Wiggle.” Legend performed a medley of “All of Me” and “You & I.”
The CMT Music Awards airs tonight (Jun. 4) at 8 p.m. EST.
