Editor’s note: “Say That, Leela” is a weekly column by soul singer Leela James of “R&B Divas: LA.”
Life is precious, life is short, so we must make the most of it while were here. Take care of one another. Be there for each other. Give people their flowers while they’re alive so they can smell them, because once they’re gone, they are gone.
All too often we wait until it’s too late and have to live with regrets or wonder what could have been and that can be very difficult. It seems just best to reach out and tell someone now they are loved because you never know what someone is going through. In fact so many people are secretly struggling with depression on a daily basis.
In light of the recent death of Robin Williams and countless others, including the infamous Don Cornelius who have passed by way of suicide, offering a helping hand and a non judgmental ear can save a life. Sometimes professional help is necessary, so I recommend it. Desperate times calls for desperate measures.
