As the countdown continues for the release of Jhene Aiko’s debut album “Souled Out,” the truthful artist drops the studio version of her song “Spotless Mind.”
Earlier this year, Aiko premiered the NO I.D. produced record at Coachella 2014. The carefree tune finds the Los Angeles native singing about her life as a modern-day nomad. “Started as a love song, 24 years in the making / Moving from place to place and I never really settled down,” sings Aiko.
The song “Eternal Sunshine,” off her debut set, will serve as part two of “Spotless Mind.” The two album cuts were inspired by the 2004 film “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.”
Aiko’s debut project “Souled Out” will hit stores and digital retailers on September 9.
