Monica has been working on her seventh studio album for a while. We’ve seen her in the studio with just about everyone — from Miguel and Jermaine Dupri to Crystal Nicole and Missy Elliott. The list is endless. The Grammy-winning singer recently had an early morning studio session with singer-songwriter Keri Hilson.
Hilson shared the news via Twitter after explaining the dedication Monica has to record. “Wow, @MonicaBrown came to visit me at the studio, heard a song she wants, and got in the booth at 6 AM!! I love it! #dedication #20yearVET,” tweeted Hilson.
Monica returned the love to Hilson, insisting that Hilson should make room for more awards — particular a Grammy. “This woman plays a major part @kerihilson in the studio & the music sounds AMAZZZZING !!,” posted Monica on Instagram. “The Grammy behind her is so fitting because there’s a few on the way!!”
The untitled Keri Hilson-penned track is expected to be produced by Danja, who has made instrumentals for Brittney Spears, Ciara, Justin Timberlake, Trey Songz and Mariah Carey.
There is still no word on the release date or even the first single for Monica’s new album. Nonetheless, as long as she is working on it, fans should be satisfied.
