With 2015 quickly approaching, talented vocalist Ledisi sets her sights on releasing a special project in the new year.
Releasing on January 20 via Verve Records, The Intimate Truth, an acoustic EP, will serve as an interlude project before her follow-up to 2014’s The Truth. The passionate artist promises to deliver “pure unadulterated singing” on the forthcoming EP, which consists of seven songs from her last album.
In conjunction to the passion project, Ledisi will travel across the States for a multi-city tour, which she titles after the EP. The 23-date trek will begin on February 27 in Los Angeles at Club Nokia. From there, she will perform in major cities such as Houston, Memphis, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Charlotte. The Intimate Truth Tour will conclude in Atlanta, Georgia on March 29 at Symphony Hall.
Ledisi recruits singers Leela James and Raheem DeVaughn as special guests for the concerts.
Later this month, Ledisi will portray the role of legendary Mahalia Jackson in the upcoming historical film Selma.
Tickets go on sale for The Intimate Truth Tour on January 10 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.
