Last night, the 2015 BET Honors aired on television. Hosted by Wayne Brady, the star-studded event was filled with touching tributes and memorable performances.
Some of R&B’s top talent was drafted for the performance lineup including Patti LaBelle, Charlie Wilson, Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, K. Michelle and Trey Songz.
Trey Songz performed Usher’s ’90s hit single, “Nice & Slow” before the “Confessions” artist was presented with the Musical Arts award by one of his idols, Bobby Brown.
Charlie Wilson saluted Visionary Award recipient Kanye West with their GRAMMY-nominated single “Bound.” Overwhelmed with joy, West jumped onstage with Wilson for an impromptu freestyle.
Later, donning a beautiful blue gown, K. Michelle performed her song “Judge Me” from her new album Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart?
Ne-Yo performed “Religious” from his forthcoming album Non-Fiction. Meanwhile, Patti LaBelle paid homage to Phylicia Rashad before she received her Theatrical Arts Award.
Mary J. Blige closed the show with “Doubt” from her album The London Sessions.
