In the midst of all the racial injustices happening in the United States, most recently in Baltimore, Sammie releases a touching ballad titled “Dear: America.”
“What’s wrong with the skin that I’m In? / There’s nothing wrong with the skin that I’m in,” Sammie sings.
Speaking on “Dear: America,” Sammie says, “I couldn’t sleep last night. I tossed and turned because my brothers and sisters were not at peace. I found myself questioning America: ‘What’s wrong with the skin I’m in?’ I hope this melody will be a voice for the voiceless. Prayers to Baltimore and to the unrest in our country.”
