August Alsina visits his hometown New Orleans in his new video “Hip-Hop,” which premiered on Sunday during the 2015 BET Awards Pre-Show.
In the socially conscious video, directed by Payne Lindsey, Alsina prays for better days as news clips of police brutality are shown on a television screen. He marches down a block with people holding signs that read “Black Lives Matter,” “Pray For Better Days” and “I Can Feel Change.”
“Hip-Hop” is the first single from Alsina’s upcoming sophomore album.
