After a long wait, Janet Jackson has released the visual for “No Sleeep.”
For the first time in five years, we get to see a music video from Jackson. Beginning with Jackson’s favorite weather, rain, this video could not compliment the song more. It features Jackson in a modern home, with a projected slideshow of photos, awaiting her love to arrive. After the bridge, J.Cole appears for his performance.
The video has elements that will remind you of her pasts videos like “Rock With U,” with the illusion of the one take and seamless transitions from scene to scene, and “Just A Little While,” with Jackson performing the song alone at home. Director Dave Meyers however, did a great job at making this video incredibly original and really captured a fun side of Jackson.
As we mentioned in 5 Reasons We Love Janet Jackson, you have to pay attention to detail in order to see all the nuances, and this video does not differ. While watching, you will certainly enjoy the hidden gems in this visual, like the dog lying on the floor in the bedroom scene.
As reported, the new version of “‘No Sleeep” featuring J.Cole will be the one featured on Jackson’s upcoming album, due this fall. The Unbreakable World Tour, which continues to sell out shows, will begin on August 31 in Vancouver.
