Faith Evans is putting in work. A few details have emerged involving her upcoming duets album, The King and I, with her late husband Notorious B.I.G.
Over the weekend, Evans shared a few pictures of her and Grammy award-winning producer — and Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta star — Stevie J in the studio. Stevie worked closely with Notorious B.I.G on his second album Life After Death, including his Hot 100 No. 1 single “Mo Money Mo Problems.”
“I’m making completely new records, some of which will be mostly me singing and maybe him rapping a bridge,” Evans said in an interview with HuffPost Live. Some of which will be him rapping most of the song and maybe me just singing the hooks. But I’m going to play around with it. I have a few ideas.”
In addition to Stevie J, Evans has also been working with rapper Snoop Dogg, producer/songwriter Benny Briggs (Faith Evans, Marques Houston, Mila J), singer-songwriter DJ Rogers, Jr. (Tyrese, Carl Thomas, Faith Evans) and musician Rodney Jones, Jr. (Avant, Music Soulchild, Mary Mary), to name a few.
Evans released her Faith20 EP last Christmas to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her debut album, Faith. The EP included remakes of a few songs from the album with appearances from Prodigy, Daron Jones of 112 and Kelly Price.
