There have been countless covers of Adele’s record-breaking single “Hello.” Singer-songwriter Lyfe Jennings breathes life into the track from a hood perspective. In this flip, Jennings is coming from a place where all women in “situationships” would love to see their other half come go and he’s not holding any punches.
“I just wanted to rewrite ‘Hello’ from a hood perspective….hope u enjoy… if u from there you understand why I went there..some people say it’s a suicide song,” he wrote on Facebook. “It is. I’m killing the old me who couldn’t love a woman right, the old me that was in the streets, saying goodbye to old friends who delight in the old me. Giving birth to a new Lyfe…Lyfe”
Jennings is currently working on his new album and is set to drop a new single called “Without You” in February.
