Prince’s Paisley Park home will become a museum to honor his legacy, his family confirms.
“We will turn Paisley Park into a museum in Prince’s memory,” Prince’s brother-in-law Maurice Phillips told The Sun. “It would be for the fans. He was all about the fans — this would remember his music, which is his legacy. Prince was always private but would have wanted his music remembered.”
Paisley Park, located in Chanhassen, Minn., is a 65,000-square-foot facility that was built during the filming of Purple Rain in 1983 and was completed in 1988.
The private complex was a one-stop shop with two recording studios, a sound stage, a rehearsal hall, executive offices, Prince’s living area and a vault that reportedly houses thousands of his unreleased songs.
Prince died on April 21 at Paisley Park. He was 57.
