Earlier this week, Jhené Aiko and Big Sean announced their new duo Twenty88. Today, their self-titled debut album has arrived.
The eight-track project takes listeners on a journey through a relationship. “Music now doesn’t really cater to the feelings of a real relationship,” says Aiko told Flaunt Magazine. “It’s all about trapping and bragging. I feel like this project is something that’s needed right now.” Sean nods—he currently sits on a couch in his living room in Hollywood Hills. “The whole idea of the man and woman duet” Aiko continues, “Especially a whole project, is just good for people to see. That duality is a perfect combination.”
“I’ve made some of my best/favorite songs of my career with @JheneAiko! Our chemistry with this music is undeniable,” Big Sean wrote on Twitter. “We fought hard to get this to the fans. A lot of people behind the scenes honestly tried to NOT make this happen, but f**k them.”
Twenty88 can be streamed exclusively via Tidal for four days. It’s also available for purchase at other digital retailers.
