Singer and Empire star V. Bozeman teams up with Christian rapper Young Lyfe for “Dear Officer,” a song calling for social justice.
With such a polarizing time in America and entertainers taking a stance on the injustices in the country, Bozeman expresses sorrow and confusion of the treatment of black lives by law enforcement.
“Dear officer / Will you let our husbands walk away? / Will you let our brothers live today? / Can our sis go outside to play?,” she sings.
In this powerful song, the emotion can definitely be felt and even the singer can be heard crying through the song as she sings over the somber beat.
