Following the Bounce & Soul: Vol. 1 mixtape that released back in March, R&B musician PJ Morton links up with music video director Cinemadona again for another visual cut from the five-track maxi single, “Sticking To My Guns.”
Filmed in New Orleans, Morton takes it to church, singing in the pews amidst a sermon with $20 bills pinned to his suit. The video features some very powerful imagery, with children getting emotional to the sermon, a baptism taking place in the bayou, and a particularly heavy scene of a man being hanged before the credits roll.
The maxi single, Sticking To My Guns, recently debuted in preparation for PJ Morton’s upcoming studio album, which is slated for release in early 2017. This will be Morton’s first full-length solo release since returning to New Orleans and forming his record label, Morton Records.
Sticking to My Guns — directed and produced by Morton himself — is available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon and more.
