Eric Bellinger is showing no signs of slowing down with new music. The singer-songwriter teams up with Maryland rapper Phil Ade for a fresh track titled “In My Prime.”
On the track, Bellinger celebrates his success. “I’m in my prime/ I remember those days when a n***a wasn’t big enough,” he sings.
The song is lifted from Bellinger’s upcoming project, Eric B. for President: Term 1, scheduled to release on September 9. The EP will consist of eight tracks with guest features from 11:11, ARoc and RJ.
“Eric B. for President has been a title that has stuck with me my whole life,” Bellinger tells Billboard about his hip-hop influenced EP. “Eric B & Rakim were two of rap music’s most coveted pioneers. They opened doors for generations of artists to prosper in this industry. This is my way of saying thank you and providing physical proof that they made a difference.”
He adds, “Plus with this project being more Hip Hop driven and a campaign that could potentially put the first female president in office, it was only right. I felt it was necessary to raise awareness amongst the culture using my voice to support what’s right for the masses.”
Eric B. for President: Term 1 is the follow-up to Bellinger’s 2016 EP Eventually and his two-part EP Cuffing Season.
