Relationships can be tricky when one isn’t being faithful while the other is remaining true. But what happens when the cheater finds out he isn’t the only one hiding secrets? This topic is what 20-year-old Jacob Latimore explores in his latest single “Mutual.”
“All of the sh*t that I’ve done/ All of the names you don’t know/ Girls I’ve protected you from/ I did some damage control/ I was just playing the part/ You was just playing the role/ But I never would have secrets of your own,” Latimore sings.
“This song is a real R&B record. ‘Mutual’ is about me being able to see things from a different perspective after realizing that my girl could be doing the same things I’ve done in the past,” Latimore told Billboard, “That feeling of the heartbreak is ‘Mutual.’”
“Mutual” follows single “The Real” featuring IshDARR and “Climb.” Each will appear on his debut album Connection which is set to release December 9. Latimore’s also has a new movie role along Will Smith and Keira Knightly in Collateral Beauty which releases December 16.
Connection is available for pre-order on Apple Music.
