The-Dream makes a return with his brand new EP, Love You to Death. The five-track EP is filled with slow burning tracks that explore the ins and outs of love.
The EP opens with an intoxicating track called “Lemon Lean.” On the sensual song, The-Dream sings about how an independent woman still needs love in the bedroom.
“You don’t need me to save ya / I see you got it covered with Paris, embroidered labels / Do me no favors / Just sit that thang down / Open it up and let me taste it / You say you don’t need me / I’m in knee deep,” he sings.
On “Rih-Flex,” The-Dream sings about being dumped by a woman with a Rihanna-like confidence.
“She on a Rihanna flex / And now you need that love / Like you lost something that you never had / It was all that, now it’s all bad,” he sings.
Love You to Death ends with “Ferris Wheel,” which The-Dream says is his personal favorite track.
Although The-Dream just dropped his EP, fans can expect more new music in the very near future. His seventh album, Love Affair, is slated to release in the first quarter of 2017.
“Love Affair is done,” he told Billboard. “It drops on March 24. You’ll start to see that rollout at the top of the year.”
