It’s been a long journey but Jacob Latimore’s debut album, Connection, is finally here. The album consists of 11 tracks including “Climb,” “Remember Me,” “Mutual” and “The Real” featuring IshDARR.

Latimore recently spoke to ABC Radio where he dished on the influence behind the sound of Connection.

“R&B music being the foundation of where I am and who I’m influenced by, I definitely wanted my first album to sort of mirror that,” Latimore said.

He also added that he wanted Connection to sound contemporary too. “On this project I really went with the R&B sound, but it still kind of got some of those hip-hop elements to it because hip-hop and R&B are sort of messed together now,” he said.

Jordan added, “It’s positive music — something you can play anywhere and around any crowd…and not having to worry about the words or subject matter getting too racy.”

Soul Brothers is the follow-up to Ruff Endz’ third album, The Final Chapter (2008), which was promoted as their last project.

Ruff Endz is namely known for their debut single, “No More” (2000), which peaked at No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. Their 2002 single “Someone to Love You” reached No. 49 on the Hot 100.
