It’s about time. Legendary R&B group New Edition was honored with a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday.
All group members — Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Bobby Brown, Ronnie DeVoe, Johnny Gill and Ralph Tresvant — attended the event with some special guests including veteran producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, as well as BET’s President of Original Programming Stephen Hill.
“Our friendships, our relationships go so far back before New Edition,” Bell said at the ceremony. “We came together because we had a passion and a desire to do something. It was simple, it was just to sing, just to dance, just to make some girls scream.”
An estimated 1,500 fans attended ceremony, according to officials with the Walk of Fame.
For more than 30 years, New Edition has mesmerized audiences with their signature choreographed shows, smooth vocal harmonies and electrifying showmanship cementing their place in history as one of the most successful touring groups ever.
