Tamar Braxton Shares New Single ‘My Man’

Tamar Braxton is back! The R&B songstress has released her highly-awaited new single “My Man.” The heartfelt tune was inspired by her parent’s divorce. She explains the song is “about her mother’s tumultuous relationship with her dad and his infidelities.”

“How could you just turn your back, when I stood by you? / When you were broke I didn’t leave you / Through it all, I believed in you / No, no, not my man / Cuz he would never hurt me,” she sings.

“My Man” is the first single from Braxton’s new label Tamartian Land Records.

With just a week until her new album Sex & Cigarettes hits stores, Toni Braxton shares the title track.

Over a piano production, a frustrated Braxton confronts her cheating man.”I can’t believe it, we’re going through this again / We’re too old, and I thought you’d outgrown this / This is driving me crazy, I can’t do this no more,” she sings on the raw ballad.

“Sex & Cigarettes” is the third track Braxton has shared from the album. In December, she released “Deadwood” as the lead track, before following up with “Long As I Live.” The latter single is now No. 13 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs chart and has over 520,000 streams on Spotify.

Listen to Trevor Jackon’s New Song ‘Apocalypse’

After capping off 2017 with “NightTime,” Trevor Jackson drops a new track titled “Apocalypse.” The upbeat selection is lifted from Jackson’s forthcoming EP, Rough Drafts Pt. 1.

The Caribbean-inspired song is about being in love with someone until the world ends. “The track is about that feeling of being confused about yourself or parts of your relationship,” Jackson told Vibe. “However, the one thing you do know for sure is that you need that person. Even if it was the end of the world you’d want them next to you.”

Jackson will serve as the supporting act on Justine Skye’s Ultraviolet Tour, which kicks off on March 21 in Washington, D.C.

In other news, Jackson’s hit show Grown-ish was renewed by Freeform earlier this year for a 20-episode second season. The show was renewed after just airing four episodes. Jackson will also star in the remake of the 1972 blaxploitation film Superflywhich is being filmed in Atlanta.
