TLC Throws Block Party in ‘Way Back’ Video

TLC has released a visual for their new single “Way Back” featuring Snoop Dogg, the lead track from their forthcoming self-titled album. In the video, T-Boz and Chilli throw an epic house party that’s filled with lots of dancing.

“We go way back / Like James Brown and Michael J / Like them high school parties / Some things don’t ever change / Yeah, you and me, we go way back,” TLC sings on the nostalgic, feel-good record.

Although the video was released only two days ago, it has already received over 1 million views on YouTube.

“Way Back” is the first single off TLC’s fifth and final album, which is set to release on June 30.

TLC’s fifth studio album will follow 2002’s 3D, which was released nearly seven months after member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez died in a car accident. The album debuted at no. 6 on the Billboard 200 with 143,000 copies sold in the first week.

SZA Perfroms ‘The Weekend’ and ‘Love Galore’ on ‘SNL’

SZA is having an incredible year. After scoring a chart-topping album and five Grammy nominations, the New Jersey native kept the momentum going on Saturday Night Live. Serving as the musical guest, SZA performed her fan-favorite single “The Weekend” and her Travis-Scott assisted track “Love Galore.”

Backed by a choir and a live band, SZA did a stripped-down version of both tracks, which was pleasant. Her performance focused on her beautiful vocals and the lyricism of each song.

“The Weekend” and “Love Galore” are lifted from SZA’s debut album, Ctrl, which is out now. Both songs have a combined 192 million streams on Spotify alone.

Following the icebreakers, Blige switched gears and discussed her role in Mudbound. “It’s really a powerful film and there is a happy ending,” she said. “It’s a very relative story to today as well because a lot of people don’t seem to get the memo that we are free. We’re all free. All nationalities. We’re free.”

Blige also talked about the 25th anniversary of her debut album What’s the 411? She recalled her early memories of coming to Hollywood that era. “Then I came back to shoot the “I’m Going Down” video for the My Life album,” said Blige.
