Goapele has released a visual for her BJ The Chicago Kid-assisted single “Stay.” The smokey visual was directed by Sean Alexander.
In an interview with Rated R&B, Goapele explained what inspired the track. “I got to work with BJ The Chicago Kid on it — who I have been wanting to work with for awhile — and we have been trying to figure out how to synergize,” she explained. “A mutual friend, Corn, produced the track and I wanted kind of a hard-hitting song, an 808 love song type of vibe, and it’s kind of how to show us in a relationship.”
“Stay” is lifted from Goapele’s latest EP, Dreamseeker. The EP also includes previously released singles “Power,” “Secret” and the title track.
