Jazmine Sullivan and Bryson Tiller’s song “Insecure” has come to life in its newly released music video!

The video first finds Jazmine singing her verse whilst sitting on the couch of her home before it cuts to her at a house party in “The Dunes,” which is where Issa and Lawrence live in the show Insecure. In this house party, we get cameos from some of the show’s main characters: Issa is FaceTiming Jazmine and get interrupted by Jazmine’s boyfriend blowing up her phone. Kelli (Natasha Rothwell) is in attendance at the party, being as funny as ever — even without sound. Tiffany (Amanda Seales) is also there in all of her bougie glory and last, but not least we even get a cameo from Dro (Sarunas Jackson), who appears in a different scene.

“Insecure” is the title track for the show by the same name, serving as the lead single. The song is beginning a run at radio success, as it just debuted on both the Urban AC and urban radio charts at No. 30 and No. 37, respectfully.

Mary J. Blige visited Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night to promote her role in the Netflix film, Mudbound.

The 46-year-old singer shared tons of laughs with guest host Tracee Ellis Ross, as she answered random questions on whether she prefers a window seat or aisle seat on flights, if she ever Googles herself and her favorite superhero.

Following the icebreakers, Blige switched gears and discussed her role in Mudbound. “It’s really a powerful film and there is a happy ending,” she said. “It’s a very relative story to today as well because a lot of people don’t seem to get the memo that we are free. We’re all free. All nationalities. We’re free.”

Blige also talked about the 25th anniversary of her debut album What’s the 411? She recalled her early memories of coming to Hollywood that era. “Then I came back to shoot the “I’m Going Down” video for the My Life album,” said Blige.

Kenny Lattimore Visits ‘Sister Circle Live,’ Talks Cultural Appropriation in Music

R&B veteran Kenny Lattimore made a press stop to TV One’s Sister Circle Live on Monday (Dec. 4).

Dressed in comfortable winter attire, the dapper crooner sat down with hosts Rashan Ali and Syleena Johnson to discuss a range of topics including his new album, Vulnerable.

While the response from fans and critics for his current project has been great, he revealed he wanted to go with another genre for this studio effort. “I was going to make a jazz album to be honest,” he shared. “But my last album, Anatomy of a Love Song, did really well and I was like, ‘Well let me give the public one more in this particular time period before I start to change it up a little bit.’”

With cuffing season in full effect, Kenny says his new album has him “open to falling in love again.”

Lattimore also dished on cultural appropriation in music. “To be the creator of a music art form and to be dismissed from it is one of the most devastating things ever,” he candidly said.

Lattimore’s ninth studio album, Vulnerable, is available in stores and for streaming. His holiday album, A Kenny Latimore Christmas, is out too.
