Alicia Keys Shares Unreleased Song ‘When You Were Gone’

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of Alicia Keys’ third album, As I Am, the singer has shared an unreleased track titled “When You Were Gone.”

“‘When You Were Gone’ is one of the VERY first songs recorded for As I Am, the one where I started to create the sound that the album has,” Keys explained. “We were experimenting with a lot of keyboards and sounds and styles of recording, and we were all about breaking boundaries and writing things in new ways.”

Released on Nov. 9, 2007, As I Am featured some of Keys’ hits including “No One,” “Like You’ll Never See Me Again,” “Teenage Love Affair” and “Superwoman.” The album scored Keys a few Grammys including Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song for “No One.”

Daron Jones of 112 Releases New Song ‘Say Sum’

112 may have just released their comeback album, Q Mike Slim Daron, last fall, but that is not stopping member Daron Jones from sharing new music. The singer/songwriter/producer just dropped an upbeat track titled “Say Sum.”

On the breezy tune, Jones sings about breaking his silence to compliment a woman’s beauty. “Girl you look so good / I had to say sum / And you just so fly / I had to say sum,” he sings.

There is no word if “Say Sum” will appear on a future project or if it’s just a promotional track for fans — either way, it’s still fire.

Justin Timberlake Shares New Song and Video, ‘Supplies’

After dropping his “Filthy” track two weeks ago, Justin Timberlake follows-up with a new song called “Supplies.” On The Neptunes-produced track, Timberlake tells his woman that even in an apocalypse, his love enough for survival.

“‘Cause I’ll be the light when you can’t see / I’ll be the wood when you need heat / I’ll be the generator, turn me on when you need electricity / Some shit’s ’bout to go down / I’ll be the one with the level head / The world could end now / Baby, we’ll be living in The Walking Dead,” sings Timberlake.

Timberlake also premiered the video for “Supplies,” which was directed by Dave Meyers. The politically-charged video opens with Timberlake sitting in front of a stack of television screens consuming visuals a lot of issues that are happening in this country — from the #MeToo movement to police brutality.

From the looks of the video, Timberlake wants the world to know how ‘woke’ he is. But is he? We’ll leave that up to you to decide.

On Feb. 2, he will release his fifth album, Man of the Woods, on RCA Records. On Feb. 4, he will take center stage as the headlining act of Super Bowl Halftime Show presented by Pepsi.

Keke Palmer Gets ‘Bossy’ for FOX’s ‘Star’ Soundtrack

Keke palmer bossy

Kelis isn’t the only one that’s bossy; Keke Palmer is “Bossy” too on her new single.

On this trap banger, the 24-year-old triple threat sing-raps with swagger and confidence about how fine and fabulous she is.

“I’m independent got my own boo / And I can fuck some cash up if I want to / Fuck it up, body cold (frosty) / And I’m so (bossy) / Ain’t I so (saucy) / And my clothes (cost me),” she sings.

This song was written by K-So and A-Lex, who were writers on Keke’s last offering “Pregame.” Tasha Catour, who worked with her and Jane Handcock’s joint mixtape Keyana Nikole, is also credited as a writer and producer.

“Bossy” is Ms. Palmer’s first official single since the Quavo-featured “Wind Up,” and is her first contribution to the soundtrack for FOX’s Star. Keke recurs on the Lee Daniels drama as Gigi Nixon, who is a feisty label mate of the show’s protagonist characters.
