Mariah Carey has release visual for her new holiday single “The Star” from the soundtrack of the animated film of the same name. Directed by Jeb Hardwick, the video features Carey looking fabulous in a shiny dress as she sings in front of festive backdrops. Her twins Roc and Roe also make a cameo in the video.
In The Star, a small but brave donkey named Bo yearns for a life beyond his daily grind at the village mill. One day he finds the courage to break free, and finally goes on the adventure of his dreams. On his journey, he teams up with Ruth, a loveable sheep who has lost her flock and Dave, a dove with lofty aspirations. Along with three wisecracking camels and some eccentric stable animals, Bo and his new friends follow the Star and become unlikely heroes in the greatest story ever told – the first Christmas.
The film hits theaters this Friday (Nov. 17) and includes voice overs from Carey, Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, Steven Yeun, Christopher Plummer and more.
“The Star” isn’t Carey’s only new Christmas song. Last week, she released “Lil Snowman” from the soundtrack for her animated film, All I Want For Christmas Is You, available now.
