Mary J. Blige Gets Animated in ‘Sherlock Gnomes’ Film

As Mary J. Blige racks in rave reviews and accolades for her role in Netflix’s Mudbound, she takes her acting chops to Paramount Pictures as Irne Adler in Sherlock Gnomes.

Blige stars alongside James McAvoy, Emily Blunt, Johnny Depp, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ozzy Osbourne, Maggie Smith, Stephen Merchant and Michael Caine in the sequel to Gnomeo and Juliet
.
The Hollywood Reporter reports, Sherlock Gnomes follows Gnomeo (James  McAvoy) and Juliet (Emily Blunt) to their new home in the garden where they discover new adventures, new humans and new garden gnomes. Everything goes well until Gnomeo and Juliet notice the disappearance of gnomes in the garden. They enlist Sherlock Gnomes (Johnny Depp) to help investigate the unexplainable disappearance alongside his trusty sidekick Watson (Chiwetel Ejiofor).

The R&B diva will capture audiences next Friday, November 17  in Mudbound.

Recently, Blige won a Breakout Performance Award at the Hollywood Film Awards.

Sherlock Gnomes arrives in theaters March 23, 2018.

Bruno Mars, Mary J. Blige and others Win at 49th NAACP Image Awards

The winners of the 49th NAACP Image Awards were announced on Monday night during the live broadcast from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, which aired on TV One.

The two-hour live special was hosted by Anthony Anderson and opened with a powerful moment in support of #TIMESUP featuring Angela Robinson, Kerry Washington, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Laverne Cox, Lena Waithe and Tracee Ellis Ross. There was a live pre-show from the red carpet hosted by Terrence J with special correspondent, Tanika Ray.

Among the winners were R&B acts SZA (Outstanding New Artist), Bruno Mars (Outstanding Male Artist, Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album, Outstanding Song) and Mary J. Blige (Outstanding Female Artist). R&B legend Charlie Wilson was honored with the Music Makes a Difference Award.

Mary J. Blige Releases New Uplifting Track ‘Bounce Back’

In celebration of her 47th birthday (Jan. 11), Mary J. Blige released a brand new track titled “Bounce Back.” On the uplifting track, Blige sings about how she pulls through during the difficult times in her life.

“What I been through (yeah) / All I the suffering and the fighting but I still pull through (yeah) / Still we rise and we fall every time,” Blige sings. “You I know I always bounce back / Never turn back / Love is like that,” she continues.

“Bounce Back” appears to be a treat to Blige’s fans. The song is currently only available to stream on Soundcloud.

This is been an eventful week for Blige. On her birthday, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “I’m so grateful for this star right now because I’ve earned it probably three times,” she said. “I say that with confidence and not arrogance. I say it because I know that now, and I know my worth, and what this means.”

Ledisi Announces ‘All The Way’ As New Single

As Ledisi continues to relish on her three deserving Grammy nominations, she selects “All the Way” as the new single from Let Love Rule.

Backed by beautiful strings and a piano, the New Orléans native relies on the attachment from her soulmate to make things right when she’s feeling down about life.

“Love me, with all of your heart / Will you love me / When things get too hard, and I need you more / Make sure you’re sure, that you’ll love me all the way,” sings Ledisi.

“All the Way” is nominated for Best Traditional R&B Performance while “High” is nominated for Best R&B Performance and Let Love Rule for Best R&B Album at the 60th Grammy Awards.

We’ll be rooting for Ledisi and all the other Grammy nominees. The Grammys will air live on Sunday, Jan. 28 from Madison Square Garden in New York and broadcast on the CBS Television Network from 7:30–11:00 p.m. ET/4:30–8:00 p.m. PT.
