Alicia Keys announced that she and her charity Keep A Child Alive will honor the late Beatle guitarist George Harrison at the 8th Annual Black Ball NY on November 3.
The event, which will take place at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, will honor Harrison’s music and philanthropic contributions. It will feature performances by Keys, Usher, Mary J. Blige, Norah Jones, and more.
Alicia Keys, co-founder of Keep A Child Alive, expressed her excitement about the event:
We are beyond excited to dedicate this year’s Black Ball to the late, great George Harrison and all of his outstanding philanthropic work in India. Although he’s no longer with us, his charitable dreams live on and have paved the way for musicians to recognize that their fame and power can be used for good.
