R&B singer Teairra Mari recently announced the title of her sophomore album, “Sex On The Radio.” The Division 1 recording artist announced the title during a radio interview on Chicago’s 107.5 FM.
During her interview she talked about how she got signed to Rico Love’s record label, her upcoming movie role in “Mac & Devin Go to High School,” and promoted her new single “U Did That (Ft. 2 Chainz).”
In a recent interview with VIBE, Mari explained the concept of her upcoming album:
I mean, the sound is sexy but all of the topics aren’t talking about sex. I have songs talking about my heart. I have songs talking about making love of course. I have songs talking about dancing. I have songs talking about my favorite song on the radio, go DJ, you know it’s all different topics. It’s not just focused on a sexual theme, it’s just that the sound is sexy.
Ms. Mari has not had much luck with her music since the release of her debut album. She attempted to make a comeback with “At That Point,” which spawned her hit single “Sponsor (Ft. Soulja Boy).” However, the album was shelved because many songs got leaked. Thus, Mari released the LP as a mixtape. Mari had more false starts with projects that aren’t worth going into detail about.
Hopefully, Rico Love will steer her in the right direction. If she doesn’t get it right this time, she might as well call it quits.
