Singer/songwriter/producer Ne-Yo and multi-hit producer/songwriter Jermaine Dupri will be honored at the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards June 26 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in L.A.

ASCAP, the performing rights organization, has announced Ne-Yo and Jermaine Dupri as early honorees for their 27th annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards. Multi-talent Ne-Yo will be honored with the Golden Note Award with past honorees such as Pharrell Williams, Usher, Alicia Keys, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and more.

“We can’t think of anyone else more deserving of this award based on the extraordinary career milestones we’ve seen him achieve through the years,” says ASCAP VP of Rhythm & Soul Membership Nicole George-Middleton. “We are excited to honor an artist who continues to push the limits of R&B and popular music with his incredible creativity.”

A man who has contributed so much to the R&B music industry since the early 90s and who has already captured the Golden Note Award himself, Jermaine Dupri, is now being honored with the Founder Award among past recipients such as Dr. Dre, Quincy Jones and Stevie Wonder.

“For over two decades, Jermaine has consistently provided the world with hit after hit, many of which we already know as classics,” says ASCAP President and Chairman Paul Williams.

The invitation-only event will also honor songwriters and publishers of the most-performed ASCAP songs on the 2013 R&B/Hip-Hop, rap and gospel charts.
