It’s been four years since Jeremih released his sophomore album “All About You.” Now, the Chicago-born singer is ready for the world to hear his third album this fall.
Originally titled “Thumpy Johnson,” the “Birthday Sex” singer has changed the title of his new album to “Late Nights: The Album.” The project is named after his 2012 mixtape “Late Nights,” which received positive reviews from fans.
“The last body of work I put out was Late Nights,” Jeremih tells XXL. “I still feel like how I was feeling when I recorded that. I was traveling, up late nights, recording all the time. It just felt like every record was catering to… I imagined if it was a big bed in the club, everybody would be in one big ass orgy off of all the songs [on the LP]. My first two albums I was making sad songs. I don’t feel like that no more. I was in a relationship then. I’m single as hell right now. You’re getting the best of my last single years.”
“Late Nights: The Album” is set to arrive in stores September 30. In the meantime, Jeremih will drop his new mixtape “Not On My Album (N.O.M.A.),” which includes tracks that didn’t make the cut on his forthcoming album.
