Emerging singer/songwriter Brik.Liam has released his new project titled What’s The Matter, Brik? via Morton Records. The new project comes two years after the arrival of his The Ascension EP.
For his first release under the Morton Records imprint, Liam unmasks and unburdens himself to produce one of 2019’s most honest works of art.
What’s the Matter, Brik? relies on the phase transitions between the four fundamental states of matter for creative direction. Liam revealed the vision behind the EP took a new focus after he started gravitating to “Green Eyes” from Erykah Badu’s Mama’s Gun album.
Instead of recording one song structured around matter “to show the different forms of matter thru different vibes,” Liam flipped the concept for the entire project.
Liam called upon Mr. DaMention, Kori James, Remey Williams, and other studio associates for songwriting and production.
What’s the Matter, Brik? features no guest appearances and includes the lead single “Some Other Dude.”
Liam is taking his new music on the road with his label founder PJ Morton next month. He makes his first of many appearances on the tour at The Vogue on November 13 in Indianapolis. Tickets are available now.
