Following Jazmine and Gourty Maxx’s historic video unveiling of her single “Money and Cars” featuring SLiM Wav on Pinterest TV, it surfaces on her official YouTube channel.
Swiping its inspiration from Netflix’s Bridgerton, the Melissa Effa-directed video features the crew styled in real-Regency era attire. The premise of the video has men lining up to wow and win the affection of Jasmine by bearing gifts.
SLiM Wav appears in a joint scene where he sings his verse. Other appearances include Xscape and Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss and Lauren Lott, an actress from The Young and the Restless.
Apart from the all-Black cast, the “Money and Cars” video had the exact representation in its production team as well as the products displayed throughout, including those from RHOA alum Porsha Williams’ Go Naked Hair company and Luxury Original Grillz.
“I think it’s important for us as Black women to be seen on and off the camera,” said Jazmine in a statement.
“It wasn’t until I was much older I realized the effects that lack of representation had on me. This video is very symbolic to the things that make us beautiful as Black women, as women of color, and as creatives. I am happy Pinterest, and their team saw the vision and assisted us in making history.”
“Money and Cars” featuring SLiM Wav is the first taste of Jazmine and Gourty Maxx’s collaborative album, which is set to release this summer.
