Mary J.Blige is pulling out all the stops as she gears up for the release of her first Christmas album, “A Mary Christmas.” The Wall Street Journal blog premiered the LP’s latest offering “Have Yourself A Merry Christmas.”
Blige trades in her hip/hop chops, bringing her softer voice to the warming holiday classic, which was first introduced in 1944 by Judy Garland. Since then, “Have Yourself A Merry Christmas” has been covered by artist like Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, the Pretenders and Aimee Mann among others.
“A Mary Christmas” is set to hit shelves and iTunes Oct.15, with guest appearances by The Clark Sisters, Jessie J and Barbra Streisand on “When You Wish Upon A Star.”
