Asiahn is having a much-needed girls night out in her new video, “Like You.”
Set in Los Angeles, after a lovers quarrel, she swiftly grabs her things to join her crew and unexpectedly peeps a girl who catches her eye. Even in the moment of slight vulnerability, she doesn’t pursue her because Asiahn doesn’t condone cheating. The bright colored clothes and house party scene gives a fun 90s vibe.
Her latest album Love Train 2 was released earlier this month and in a recent interview with Billboard, the Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter went in depth about the video and the story behind her album.
When talking about the topics she writes about, she explained, “I wanted to get into the in-between of the relationship or the journey of love. I feel like so many songs are either ‘f*** my ex’ or ‘I’m so in love!’ There’s no middle ground. Where are the songs that talk about moving forward? Or finding self-love and realizing that you put more effort into loving someone else than you did yourself? I feel like those are things that we should tackle because music can help heal people.”
She was one of the few chosen artists who participated in the recording sessions for the upcoming Dreamville compilation album Revenge of The Dreamers III and with the new album out, we’re hoping she’ll be on the road very soon.
