If you don’t know by now, Mariah Carey is the Queen of Christmas.
The elusive chanteuse partnered with Amazon Music for a mini-documentary titled Mariah Carey is Christmas: The Story of “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
In the 11-minute clip, Carey reminisces about the studio session for “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” as well as other stories about recording her first-ever holiday album at an early stage in her career.”
“As we continue to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You,’ it was important for me to share part of the story behind this song that still brings me joy every year,” Carey said in a press statement. “I hope you enjoy Amazon Music’s special glimpse into the magic of this song. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!”
The mini-documentary also includes commentary from Randy Jackson (Carey’s longtime collaborator); Shirley Halperin (executive editor for music at Variety); Gary Trust (Billboard’s senior director of charts); and Trey Lorenz (Carey’s longtime backup singer and friend).
This week, the song re-peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Carey is currently on her All I Want for Christmas Is You Tour, powered by Hallmark. The tour, which coincides with the 25th anniversary of Carey’s Merry Christmas album, will wrap up on December 15 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
