DAWN, formerly known as Dawn Richard, continues to support her Blackheart era with the double visual for “Titans” and “James Dean.”
The beginning of the video features Dawn with two male dancers bringing “Titans” to life. As we all know, Richard’s music is very nuanced however, it is no match for the choreography. With attention to detail and seamless executions, you will be digging in your closet for your Levi’s trying to mimic the artistry.
Transitioning to “James Dean,” we now see the former Danity Kane member alone performing in a James Dean shirt. While with this song she is dancing freestyle, it is also very well executed. Using the same backdrop throughout, the two different sounds are brought together nicely by director Monty Marsh, who directed Dawn before with “Blow” and “Projected.”
Recently debuting her eyewear line Black Era Shades, she continues to prove success as an independent artist is possible. Dawn will be performing live at The Jazz Cafe in London on June 2nd and at the MoMA “Warm Up 2015” in New York on August 29th. Both Blackheart and “James Dean” are available on iTunes now.
