Ditching the former alias “Wynter” for her birth name, Diana Gordon makes a triumphant return with a catchy new single called “The Legend Of.”
On the record, Gordon hones in on self-awareness towards her creativity. She croons over the light, alternative production about her journey to realizing her own creative worth.
“Put it all on the line I’m all in can’t you see? / Give you all of my time if you make time for me,” she sings.
“‘The Legend Of’ is a tiny cliff note of stories from my life. It blends music I enjoy, the unique tones that make up my voice and is a celebration of my achievements and lessons I’ve learned disguised as failures,” she explained to Fader.
Gordon spent a lot of her career as a songwriter in the R&B world, recently securing placements on Beyoncé’s Lemonade album with “Sorry” and “Don’t Hurt Yourself.”
Despite her success as a songwriter, Gordon felt that it was not enough for her and now she turns her focus on letting her story be told by herself.
“I turned my pain into stories and my stories into songs and sold the to the highest bidder,” Gordon wrote on her website legendofdiana.com.
The last project Gordon released under her old moniker was the EP Five Needle that she dropped last summer.
