Our favorite “Bossy” singer, Kelis is back with a new tune titled “Jerk Ribs” on the new track. Produced by Dave Sitek, echoing drums and whistles, the free spirit artist lets her hair down on retro-tune and shows off her versatility in musical styles.
“So don’t miss this/This what it looks like, so call on me/It feels just like it should/So call on me,” she sings.
The “Milkshake” singer has also announced that she is working on her sixth studio album tentatively titled FOOD. The album was produced by Sitek and will be released via his independent label, Federal Prism.
“I’m really excited, my album is done. It sounds like love and summer balled up into one,” Kelis tweeted.
FOOD is the follow-up to Kelis’ 2010 release, Flesh Tone, which debuted at No. 48 on Billboard, selling 8,000 copies during its first week of sales.
