Pharrell calls up A-list artists to be a part of his “G I R L” album, due in stores March 3. Today, the “Frontin” singer released the official tracklisting for his sophomore album.
The 10-track collection will collaborations from Justin Timberlake (“Brand New”), Alicia Keys (“You Know Who You Are”) and Miley Cyrus (“Come Get It”). The album will also include Pharrell’s hit single “Happy,” which was recently nominated for an Oscar.
In a past interview, Pharrell promised fans that there would be no rapping on this album. “No rapping. It’s focused,” he said in the interview. “Like I told you, that’s the difference between 30 and 40. ’Cause I was 30, now I’m 40—and I’m not rapping.”
In another interview, Pharrell explained the meaning behind the album title. “The reason why I named it G I R L in capital letters is because when you look at it, it looks a little weird. And the reason why it does is because society is a little unbalanced,” he told BBC Radio 1.
