R&B artists will be in great numbers for NBC’s “Today” show summer concert series this year. The network’s annual “Toyota Concert Series on Today” will feature several familiar faces in R&B music including Mariah Carey who will kick off the musical festivities on May 16 in Rockefeller Plaza.

The five-octave songbird will use her exposure at the music series to promote her long-awaited 14th studio album, which will reportedly release in late May.
Aside from Carey, throughout the summer months, other R&B artists to grace the plaza stage in NYC will include Pharrell Williams and Aloe Blacc. Both talents will rock the concert crowd for the first time ever.
In addition, Jennifer Hudson, Ariana Grande and Usher will provide entertainment on Friday mornings this summer.
